A “silvers only” pond… this venue is a water for those who would rather give gear-bashing carp a wide berth.

Some absolutely stonking Roach (1.5lb!), Bream (8lb), Tench and Crucians make up the majority of catches with Perch and Rudd being present also.

We move a lot(!) of quality silvers out of the “Big Pond” (Carp lake) at Wiggs most years where those folks who want to target quality Roach etc can have a real red letter day when it’s on form.

Quite a consistent depth all the way round… there’s the odd shelf and hole here and there but most swims are as flat as a snooker table! (Ideal for those folks who only want to tie one rig. 😉

We had some juvenile Crucians, Bream and Tench delivered by the Environment Agency in the winter of the 2019/2020 season – these wee beauties are packing the weight on and proving incredibly popular.

A nice venue to get a decent bag of mixed silvers from when you fancy something different from the usual “carp, carp, carp” of modern day commercial fisheries.
