Hermitage Park Lake

Location

Whitwick, Coalville.

General description

Roughly 12 acres in size, this ”sleeping giant” has taken massive positive steps towards it’s resurgence since arriving on the Ashby ticket back in 2019/2020.

Not the easiest water by any stretch… But one that some time, effort and patience will usually reward with a real character fish of a decent stamp.

Quite deep in places, some of it being 14-15ft deep.

A fair few pegs (15 or so) have been re-done by both the club, and the North West Leicestershire District Council.

Weedy in places, blue dye is applied annually which stunts the growth of the blanket weed (a form of Algae) which does help with the presentation of rigs etc.

Specimen Tench(8lb), Bream(10lb) and Pike(20lb) present that we know of but the carp will probably be the main attraction for those who visit (25lb+).
