Peggs Green, Coleorton.
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of a family-run Christmas Tree Farm, this intricate match/pleasure-style lake is a fantastic addition to the Ashby Angling Club roster.
30 pegs in total so it’s a good size!
A real mixed bag can be achieved here… Plenty of small carp, some cracking Roach, as well as a mixed bag of silvers (Skimmers, Perch etc) are all there to have a go at. Silvers can prove elusive however as the carp dominate in the warmer months.
Bread, meat, corn and maggots all work well as close to those lillies as you dare go…
Very silty, so paste can be a real killer bait on it’s day.
Quite a shallow lake at a fairly consistent depth all the way round the lake – so it usually fishes well all year round.
There is a toilet on site, with ample parking right next to the lake.
Don’t forget to visit the farm shop now on site!
An aerator was installed winter 2019… This, along with the netting/cropping of some smaller (juvenile/stunted) silvers seems to have really switched the fishing up a gear with pleasure sessions and match results both on the increase.
Some blue dye is applied each and every year to help stem the growth of the oxygenating weed that can appear in parts of the pond.
