Church View

Location

Hugglescote, Coalville.

General description

A venue that proves quite popular with those that like a ”mixed bag” session.

Some really decent Bream (7lb+), Tench, Perch, Chub, Rudd… There’s some cracking silvers fishing available!! The small Chub we put in winter 2018 are growing well, and with the steady trickle of food going in they carry on growing!

Currently, the skimmer fishing (long pole with pellet/corn) trying to pick out some of the better Bream seems to be the winning tactic for the match anglers.

Some nice sport can be had on the feeder/tip also, with folks able to catch pretty much anything that swims from this pretty mixed fishery.

Quite a nice shelf on the short-pole line, so you can get bites quite close in when they are really on the munch.

There are some carp present, but not that many (especially compared to Spring Wood, Gelsmoor, Wiggs etc).

The Carp that are in Church View tend to hang about peg 13/14 in the summer months where it is quite a bit shallower… they will be in and amongst that big lilly bed! 18lb biggest carp that we have heard of.

New pegs installed 2021 with help (grant funding) from the Environment Agency… for which we are incredibly greatful!

Parking & Access:

Parking isn’t prolific at this tucked-away venue.

In the summer/dry months you can park your car no problems in the field that’s adjacent to the pond… but when the weather is wet and the ground is squidgy there is only a relatively small hard-standing car park (6-8 cars tops?) at the top of the hill which is quite steep.
